It’s very useful to see how charged up your Mac laptop is. By default, the battery indicator shows you a picture– when it’s full, you know it’s pretty much charged; when it’s almost empty, it’s pretty much running out of juice. In-between those extremes it’s rather a guessing game because the battery indicator is small and it’s hard to tell 50% full from 60% full.
So click on the battery indicator in the menubar, and slide down to “Show Percentage.” From then on, you’ll know EXACTLY how charged your Mac laptop’s battery is by glancing at the menu bar.
If your Mac is already showing the battery’s percentage in the menu bar, and you’re running out of room to show other things in the menu bar, now you know how to turn it off.
