How to Add Color to the Sidebar of the Mac’s Finder Windows

The Mac’s Finder windows used to have color in the sidebar. Apple changed the Finder’s appearance to 50 shades of grey way ahead of the movie. You’ve probably gotten used to it, but the Finder’s nicer in color. Download XtraFinder (it’s $4.99 Shareware, but there’a free trial), set its preferences to “Show colorful icons in the sidebar,” and you’re all set. XtraFinder can do a whole lot more too– experiment! You can make adjustments, including quitting and/or installing XtraFinder, from the XtraFinder menu.
